Delta's Product Installation and Performance Enhancement Initiative

What is PIPE?

Delta Faucet Company has been undertaking an important product improvement initiative known as Product Installation and Performance Enhancement (or PIPE). PIPE is enabling significant enhancements to products across all product categories, resulting in easier installations, greater reliability and durability, improved performance, as well as greater ease of use and serviceability. The primary benefits of these product enhancements include:

  • Simpler Installation - by reducing the amount of time it takes to install each product.

  • Greater Reliability & Dependability - by transitioning non-DST products to the DST platform for longer-lasting and leak-free performance.

  • Improved Performance & Serviceability - by utilizing universal components and making use and maintenance easier.

What are the new features of PIPE enhanced products?

PIPE is currently focusing on bringing new features to Delta brand single-handle single-hole bath faucets. New features of PIPE enhanced products include:

  • 1/4” InnoFlex PEX Supply Lines and Compression Ferrule Adapters: improvements include easier adjustments under the deck, a small 4” diameter coil, increased space for mounting nuts, less rigidity around mounting studs, and an enhanced cut-to-length process with flush, guided insertion as well as a more secure connection.

  • 25mm DIAMOND Valve Cartridges and Polymer Bonnet Nuts: the standardized DIAMOND valve provides greater reliability and serviceability. The push-fit stem provides simplified handle attachment and removal, as well as improved operation and feel of the handle. A polymer bonnet nut and buttress thread offer a more secure connection, reduces loosening, and resists corrosion.

  • Push-Fit Handles: improve aesthetics by having no visible set screw or cap, and no pad printed temperature indicators (temperature indicator rings optional). Push-fit handles also reduce frustration by eliminating the potential for missing or lost set screws, reducing tools needed for servicing, and providing easier access to the valve. Additionally, performance is improved by providing a more consistent attachment to the valve with reduced handle wobble.

  • Push Pop-Up Drain Assemblies: simplify installation with a wrench-free design and by eliminating lift-rods and their attachments. In addition to being ADA accessible, push pup-up drain assembles have greater performance by reducing sink drain leakage, provides an easy clean twist stopper, and prevents lift-rod backsplash interference.

  • U-Connectors, Swing Clips, and Aerators: provide a waterway construction with two modes of inlet/outlet, including a preinstalled U-Connector and Swing Clip Connector. U-Connectors are included on models using a standardized aerator, eliminating the need for additional connections, and allowing the aerator to be removed to flush lines. Swing Clips are included on models with stream straightener or Touch2O, providing an integrated clip for easy connection under the deck and allowing the filter and flow restrictor to be removed to flush lines.

How can PIPE enhanced products be identified?

PIPE enhanced products can be identified by their packaging and part numbers. These important changes include:

  • PIPE enhanced products will have a green dot on the outside of their boxes.

  • All new models going forward will utilize the -DST suffix. Model numbers for existing non-DST products will remain unchanged.

  • New model numbers will be provided for each individual handle option. Single-handle -LHP models will be discontinued.

When will PIPE enhanced products be available?
